🌙 Golden Milk (Turmeric Latte) Recipe
✨ Ingredients (Serves 1)
1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based – oat, almond, or coconut milk work beautifully)
½ tsp ground turmeric
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground ginger (or a few thin slices of fresh ginger)
1 pinch ground black pepper (enhances curcumin absorption)
1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
A pinch of nutmeg or cardamom (optional – for extra warmth and flavour)
🫖 Instructions
Warm the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Whisk in the turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper.
Stir gently until everything is well combined and heated through — but do not boil.
Reduce heat and let simmer for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally to allow the flavours to infuse.
Remove from heat. Strain through a fine mesh sieve if you used fresh ginger or want a smoother texture.
Stir in honey or maple syrup to taste.
Pour into your favourite mug, sprinkle with a little nutmeg or cinnamon on top if desired, and enjoy warm.
💛 Tips:
Make a batch of dry Golden Milk mix by combining the dry spices in a small jar for quick prep anytime.
For a frothy finish, blend your Golden Milk in a blender for 20 seconds (be careful with hot liquids) or use a milk frother.
You can add coconut oil/Ghee for a smoother texture and this can aid absorption (I don't tend to do so as it increases the saturated fat).
Golden Milk is perfect for helping you unwind in the evening thanks to turmeric’s calming and anti-inflammatory properties. Sip it slowly, breathe deeply, and let it become a little moment of self-care in your day.
